A Taste of Cy-Fair set a new record raising well more than $50,000 for Cy Hope! The annual event saw a little more than 2,200 in attendance and the number of participating restaurants, distributors and local businesses has tripled in size since year one. Food, drinks and fun were had by all who attended.
Lynda Zelenka, executive director of Cy-Hope, said the nonprofit is thankful for the fundraising the event does. Cy-Hope offers multiple programs for at-risk and in need children including a backpack program to deliver food to students, Hope Centers that provide tutoring and recreation and Dierker’s Champs, a baseball program. All proceeds from ATOCF go directly to Cy-Hope, Beattie said, and last year the event raised more than $40,000 for the organization.
Businesses participating in this year’s ATOCF include Azul Italian Kitchen, Cypress Trail Hideout, Hanan’s Cafe, Backyard Grill and more. A local artist will paint a mural throughout the event, with the chance for participants to photograph the artwork. A sellers market will feature a plethora of vendors from local businesses.
Enjoy cuisine from over 40 participating restaurants and sample wines and beers at the third annual A Taste of Cy-Fair. The event also feature live music, a silent auction and market vendors.

A Taste of Cy-Fair will hold its third annual event Oct. 5 at Bridgeland’s Lakeland Village Center, 10615 Fry Road, Cypress. Several local restaurateurs collaborated to create the event in 2017 to help support families affected by Hurricane Harvey. Last year’s event raised nearly $40,000 for local nonprofit Cy-Hope.
The 2018 A Taste of Cy-Fair event saw more than 1,700 happy attendees on Sept. 29 and was able to donate more than $37,000 to Cy-Hope. That’s almost twice as much as last year, despite the threat of rain!
